Dynamics Plus Rocket Science

Jamsphere article (2014 September’s Issue mirrors!)

Jamsphere Magazine cover

Jammed with artists -including Dynamics Plus

This album is a natural progression from previous works, with moods music shifting rapidly and without warning, tracks start one way, and then stop and morph. Musically, it is far less reliant on ‘standard’ Hip-Hop sounds, pushing more determinedly into funkier, soul, jazz and other keyboard induced grooves.

The People’s Opinion review Rocket Science the album + videos

Dynamics Plus

– Rap and Hip Hop with an experimental twist

The People's Opinion Banner

A penny for their thoughts

reviewed by Emissary on ThePeoplesOpinion.net

Nowadays, things are quite different. An independent musician can produce quality, marketable music, without sacrificing creativity. This is why “Rocket Science”, the latest Rap/Hip Hop album by Dynamics Plus’ is real example to indie musicians, regardless of genre.

*seeing a nice trend when the videos are being mentioned with the reviews.

A long time ago in music… the term “Indie” or “Independent” equaled bad production quality, low fidelity and/or music that was not marketable. Rap and Hip Hop artists, specially, could spend years selling tapes out of the trunk of his car, before anyone took real notice. Nowadays, things are quite different. An independent musician can produce quality, marketable music, without sacrificing creativity. This is why “Rocket Science”, the latest Rap/Hip Hop album by Dynamics Plus’ is real example to indie musicians, regardless of genre.

Pop the playlist below; you’re sure to get hooked by those crunchy riffs in “Dash the Cloud”, by Anthony Michael Angelo. Not what you expected from a Rap album? Get ready for more surprises!

As you’ll notice, Dynamics Plus’ videos are fairly simple – no insane special effects, or irrelevant bullshit. Everything is well thought out and significant to the stories being told.  Kudos on great directing and editing!

“Phase Shift”, for example, is a reality check. Artists big and small, from rappers to rockers, are subject to manipulation within the modern music industry.

This rapper isn’t afraid to expand on his comfort zone. “Seek End Destroy” is a short, straight to the point rap, featuring some slick dance moves by Alesony. Then there’s “Plenty to Say”, featuring the soulful voice Nae B. The contrast between these two is exceptional, plus there’s some more nice dancing & popping to ease you into the video. “Grace Notes”, another fast-paced rap, will have you bouncing to that break-beat; and that phat, mid-range synth bass!

Dynamics Plus Explodes On Rocket Science

Rocket Science isn’t a straight hip-hop album. It’s isn’t a straight anything. The brilliance is that the rap style can cross borders and appeal to people who enjoy a little thought in their lyric…

Reviewed by D Grant Smith

What made Eminem stand out from his competition when he emerged in the underground was his more than just style. It was content, and the incredible ability to flow with intellectually crafted lyrics that challenged you to think in the middle of his rhyme. Just like when a great writer makes you go back again and again to the same line to discover more of what it meant. Dynamics Plus takes on this complexity with his new release Rocket Science.

0 Rocket Science Cover

The style similarity is present from the opening track, but the music does more than Shady’s typical sound. Kicking things off on The Ultimate Year, a throw-back styled tune recalling the Fresh Prince with a little modification with a California-styled setting, there are brains and musical brawn packaged together.

This is notably due to Dynamics Plus being more than a standard lyricist or rapper. The talented producer is visibly articulate in representing his one-of-a-kind approach to rap and hip-hop, illustrated in his video series from the new release. Of the 9 Official videos, standouts include Sunrise to Sunset, Plenty To Say, and Taxi All Is Fare.

The Rush Blog Interviews *Dynamics Plus*

#PhaseShift #RocketScience #UnsignedHype

Dynamics Plus Phase Shift

Phase Shifted Dynamics Plus

The Rush Blog Interviews  *Dynamics Plus* words by

#PhaseShift #RocketScience #UnsignedHype

  1. How did you start working on Rocket Science?

Usually, I have several folders that I dump files in, like lyrics or musical sketches and sometimes pictures that I might use. Over time, I see a folder filling up and I know I’m almost ready to start really focusing on a project.

  1. What influences you to finish a project?

The first song that really comes out strong. I finished “Phase Shift” and felt like it was time to keep that momentum going.

  1. How do you keep that ball rolling?

I listen to the album as it’s being made. I imagine myself getting it and putting it on. I think about recreating my fondest memories associated with getting an album and the experience of taking that trip. I enjoy watching someone listen to one of my albums. They make a scrunched up face when the beat drops. They tilt their head to side which means they are focused on something I’m saying. They crack a smile which means they just hit across a clever lyric. That’s what leads me when I’m creating that next work.

  1. If you had to describe your style in one word, what would that be?
I’d probably say ‘Dynamic’ since what I’m doing is always in flux…always changing. There’s always more and that’s the Plus.
  1. What makes you unique?

Probably the fact that I take so little influence from the current scene. So many people wonder, ‘How can you do this, when everyone else is doing that?’

I’m not watching what they are doing. I’m thinking about what would be interesting to do, not what’s being done. That removes a lot of limitations.
