Dynamics Plus releases a song from the Lost Files. “Lauryn” was archived after the A.D. Plus masters were lost in a drive failure.

I sit next to the window that overlooks the parking lot. I watch her come to work every morning. I see her sometimes in the hallway.

Some days she looks okay and other days she looks very sad. When her car was in the shop, her boyfriend started driving her to work. We all found out why she was so sad and realized that she only pretends to have okay days. Her name is Lauryn and I think about her a lot.

7:10 Worked out today. Resolution so far so good.

9:30 Yes! I found out that miss L is working in my department Her cubie is across from mine. I’ll be sure to avoid staring and being that creepy guy at the office. Oh wait, I already am. LOLZZZZZ

11:40 just asked to borrow my stapler. Her voice is crazy. I think I’m in love.

1:00 Jaysun is such a fukn clown. Mutha-fukkka stay in yo damn lane.

Thirsty ass. MUHHHHAAA she gave me a look after he left. Priceless.

4:45 “Dear She Goes” She has a sexy walk.

7:45 Skipped workout. Sore as hell-probably best.

10:20 today I’m on the phone and she leans over my shoulder and grabs my stapler. She smells good too. Lollololol.

12:00 the man makes a move. Snagged a stapler at lunch. I bought a stapler at Staples. Lolz. Watch this.

1:00 I’m in. I gave her the tiniest stapler they had and she’s like “Thanks, doesn’t do a whole lot of stapling” I said it’s so you have to keep coming over and borrowing mine. Aww shiY she has a cute laugh too. We gonna get married. Have hella kids.

7:00 Lifted.

9:30 Not in today. Damn. I had the ring and everything. Lolz

7:30 I’m BEASTIN.

10:30 Countdown to lunch. Lolz.

1:00 she brought me a yogurt. LOVE. G-wale just has to come over. Starts talking food. (Well, what did you expect? Lolz)

6:10 last note. Played myself. L is still there when I leave waiting so does the a-hole turn the car around and ask her if she needs a ride? No. worlds biggest LOSER. Next time.

7:30 Sunday run no lift today.

9:00 She looks like crap today.

5:00 Avoided me all day.

Hump day forreeallll. Gail suggests lunch on Friday at her favorite mex spot. The taco trio. Friday countdown begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Week of 9-19

Monday Blues. No lift.

10:30 Says she forgot her lunch. Says no, her boyfriend would flip. I says old–ass Tony Atlas? She cracks up and says her dad used to watch wrestling and she knows who that is and that her boyfriend isn’t that old. I started killing his country overalls. I said didn’t he get knocked out in Friday? Awwww SHIZZZLE. I made her eyes water. The CHAMPION!

12:30 I’m a smart dude. I brought Chiplote back and she had some.

5:30 Says he’s late sometimes, it’s no big deal. I would nevr be like that.

7:30 Lifted.

2:30 She’s texting like a beast. Hell yeah, hitting the phone mad hard. I told her typing in all caps is yelling. I said do that since the other person doesn’t know how hard you tapping in the letters. She smiled, and later she sent me an email with lol in it. First non-work related email. Woo-hoo. might send her the one of a kitty playing with a ball of yarn. Or anything with a  puppy in it. Lolz.

9:30 OW WO OWWW G-fail drove her home yesterday. Peep the science. That’s HER car he’s driving. Ohh and the n don’t be coming to her job tp pick her up on time. Big-ass clown crashed his whip. Probably those tightass shirts he wearing, could turn the wheel all the way. Chicks is unbeeeeeleeeeivable.

7:00 weak cardio. Feel like crap.

12:00 Came home. Half day. I’m officially sick. Said she would bring me soup later. Got an email with a soup e-card. She is an ill chick.

Week of 9-26

Sick day.

7:30 skipped. Still recovering- going in.

9:00 not in. hasn’t been in. Gail said she thought we ran off together. I wish.

7:00 Weak but better. The champion is recovering.

9:30 she got shades like a rockstar. She said Out late last night.

2:00 OMG she got a black eye. G-bail gets 10 points for peeping it.

Here’s the thing. Y THAF chicks date losers? I mean realy. It there like a hot chick-ahole magnet? WTF/ boyfriend fail. She’s mad quiet at work so what could be the problem. What problem could there be? I’m going tos end her a txt right now. You.Can. Do. Better.

She replies, thank you but please fall back. Fall back? That’s it. Yous about to fall down. Allright cool. I sent ‘okay. Willing to talk whenever you need’.

6:00 beastin. Can’t sleep.

9:00 Thought she was out the game for a minute. Lolz. she got a little itsy-bitsy split lip. I don’t even care. My mans said it best. They don’t wanta  good dude. Even if she was with you she’d be cheating on you with a  dude like that. F-it.

5:00 Prince harming is here. Gail is like you can still catcha  ride home with me. Wish I had thought of that. JERK. She said Don’t judge cause you don’t know what it’s like. They roasted her after she left. BYTces aint shiz.

7:30 Back is screwed. Nothing doing.

9:15 Oh snap, she got the Jackie-o shades on.

2:00 OHHH POPWWW. POW. We had the illest moment today. We’re in the kitchen and she’s ignoring me so I ignore her. She grabs my arm and whispers “You were right, I do”. WHAT>>>>>!!! OHHHHHH CHAMPION!!!!!

Nah nah nah na, hey hey hey good bye! Said she’s going to text me over the weekend and she might need a ride or two next week. THE CHAMPION>

I must have made a dozen different versions with different arrangements…should I begin with the familiar speech and then drop the track? Should the track play out normally and the speech drop last? Seems simple, but every adjustment changed the overall vibe. In the end, I chopped the speech excerpt into verses and it just felt right. I’m glad I was able to make a record that is important and meaningful to me. Happy Birthday Martin Luther King Jr.!

Martin Luther King, Jr., (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968) was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but later had his name changed to Martin. His grandfather began the family’s long tenure as pastors of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, serving from 1914 to 1931; his father has served from then until the present, and from 1960 until his death Martin Luther acted as co-pastor. Martin Luther attended segregated public schools in Georgia, graduating from high school at the age of fifteen; he received the B. A. degree in 1948 from Morehouse College, a distinguished Negro institution of Atlanta from which both his father and grandfather had graduated. After three years of theological study at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania where he was elected president of a predominantly white senior class, he was awarded the B.D. in 1951. With a fellowship won at Crozer, he enrolled in graduate studies at Boston University, completing his residence for the doctorate in 1953 and receiving the degree in 1955. In Boston he met and married Coretta Scott, a young woman of uncommon intellectual and artistic attainments. Two sons and two daughters were born into the family.

In 1954, Martin Luther King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Always a strong worker for civil rights for members of his race, King was, by this time, a member of the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the leading organization of its kind in the nation. He was ready, then, early in December, 1955, to accept the leadership of the first great Negro nonviolent demonstration of contemporary times in the United States, the bus boycott described by Gunnar Jahn in his presentation speech in honor of the laureate. The boycott lasted 382 days. On December 21, 1956, after the Supreme Court of the United States had declared unconstitutional the laws requiring segregation on buses, Negroes and whites rode the buses as equals. During these days of boycott, King was arrested, his home was bombed, he was subjected to personal abuse, but at the same time he emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank.

In 1957 he was elected president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization formed to provide new leadership for the now burgeoning civil rights movement. The ideals for this organization he took from Christianity; its operational techniques from Gandhi. In the eleven-year period between 1957 and 1968, King traveled over six million miles and spoke over twenty-five hundred times, appearing wherever there was injustice, protest, and action; and meanwhile he wrote five books as well as numerous articles. In these years, he led a massive protest in Birmingham, Alabama, that caught the attention of the entire world, providing what he called a coalition of conscience. and inspiring his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail”, a manifesto of the Negro revolution; he planned the drives in Alabama for the registration of Negroes as voters; he directed the peaceful march on Washington, D.C., of 250,000 people to whom he delivered his address, “l Have a Dream”, he conferred with President John F. Kennedy and campaigned for President Lyndon B. Johnson; he was arrested upwards of twenty times and assaulted at least four times; he was awarded five honorary degrees; was named Man of the Year by Time magazine in 1963; and became not only the symbolic leader of American blacks but also a world figure.

At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. When notified of his selection, he announced that he would turn over the prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.

On the evening of April 4, 1968, while standing on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was to lead a protest march in sympathy with striking garbage workers of that city, he was assassinated.

Radio Waves online Radio Station Podcast

Domino Grey music also plays on a bunch of online radio stations and one of them is called Radio Waves. They have a campaign running to raise funds to help them continue to support independent artists and raise money for charitable organizations. It’s a worthwhile cause.

I used to think about “giving back” and say to myself, “Well yeah, if I had a million dollars, I’d be this big charitable person.” Well, I don’t have a million, but I can rustle up a dollar or two to help. As an artist, my most prized possession is my music so a bunch of us are giving our songs to Radio Waves to be bundled as free gifts to those that donate. A very cool thing. And so AVXP Music/Dynamica Music [My Vanity label] has shut down for 2011. That makes it clear for me to reflect on everything that has happened this year. I keep a huge calendar (a cheap one from Staples) and use it as kind of a loose journal to document what goes on for any given year. I’ll make it a sort of a scrapbook and glue ticket stubs, flyers and even bills in the day’s boxes. I keep a few printouts that have important dates like birthdays (I am very bad with dates) and have a sheet for goals or Resolutions.

It’s my habit to look it over on New Year’s Eve and gauge what percent of my ‘plans’ I’ve accomplished. This has truly been one hell of a year. I’ve spent more than a decade making underground/abstract hip hop and decided to dabble in other genres. I added live musicians to my production(s) and reconnected with my muse; Shea the Doll Lizette. As Domino Grey, I’ve been able to work with some really talented artists like DJ Miki, FarishaMusic, Stephanie Kay, Elina Milan and Donna S. I released a total of six projects including Get it Up, Lay it Down, Back in the Black, the My Heart Never Skips a Beat Remixes, Fallout Shelter, Butterfly Affect Part I and the Falling Planets Soundtrack.

Most recently, I finished the vocal recording of the Shea the Doll and Nae B FREE mixtape called The Take Over. So I’ve run the gamut from hip hop instrumentals, R&B joints to dance music – all in one year. Wow. I’m only hoping next year can run like this year and the Mayan calendar doesn’t run out just when I’m at my most productive.

A big thanks to everyone that supports my music and also my inner circle who keeps me on my toes when it comes to making the best music that I can. Blog sites like I Can’t Call it and ministori for the reviews. In 2012, I expect to finish a full Lenzmen album, more Dynamics Plus, Doctor Atomics and a few new characters will get their shine. What else? I guess that’s it. We’re early with the wrap up, but since everyone is already flipping for the holidays; let’ go in.

D.A. The Future wins In the Groove Battle of the Bands in Long Island City.

They must be the hardest working girls on this side of showbiz. With their new The Take Over mixtape in full effect, it doesn’t stop for Shea Doll and Nae B. Saturday was full schedule of running around, picking up more copies of their FREE promotional mixtape [The Take Over], connecting with their support crews and getting ready for the nights Battle of the Bands in Long Island City. Shea is performing behind D.A. The Future in his A.D.D. Band.

You knew things would be different once the host did the roll call and asked “Is long Island in the house?” and the place roared. The performance was tight and solid. To be honest, it might have been over once D.A. hit the stage. He came to win. The band played to win and so they did. It was a four song set, including “It’s all so Clear” and “I’m addicted to You”. DJ Shuttle worked the wheels and did the hype-man honors while interacting with D.A. The crowd participation was brand new and fresh – it was actually very …Churchy. Yeah, there was a lot of stomping of the feet and hand waving- all while rocking.

Battle of the Bands in Long Island City December 3rd 2011

The host and judges for the night have a band of their own (Scarlet Fade) and are all related- yeah, some kind of 2012 Partridge Family. Ali, the host, kept it moving between sets and Jordan, Jaimee and Jake struck the perfect balance between showing natural emotions and critiquing the performances. They offered helpful comments to the bands and left each group feeling like they won for simply being there. The judges took note of DAs’ commanding presence, the power of Shea’s voice (they all mentioned her standout talent) and the killer violinist. They never saw anyone play the violin and jam-on-it like an electric guitar.

Afterward it was something to eat next to the 5 Points and we took time to honor the legendary Jam Master Jay. Kings from Queens indeed.

The Fallout Shelters latest efforts (helmed by super-producer & MC Dynamics Plus, along with multiple personalities Domino Grey, Drew Spence, and Xodus Phoenix) is the realization of a dream being reached, a path that puzzled many fans of the producers former hip-hop efforts. However, with any adversity, great opportunity can come out of it.

Elevator Music Volume 1: Bassment Level is the “soundtrack to a new film” in the Dynamic Plus universe (not an actual film, but more of a collection of valuable music in his already immense catalog). Overall, the growth he continues to display as a producer is earning him the acclaim of being the name used as a standard for producers of all genres to follow. I don’t even know is I should be sharing this, but meh, let’s see where this goes. For the last couple of weeks I have been locked away in the lower levels of the Fallout Shelter recording Shea the Doll and Nae B. They are solo R&B recording artists putting together a free mixtape called The Take Over. Normally this would be no big deal since I record all sorts of projects, but things quickly took a left turn.

Well, let’s go back a bit. Shea, who I’ve known for many years, is no stranger to hear me doin my thang. She was featured on the Album Doctor Atomics and the Fortress of Solitude “Machine Slave” and my most recent Domino Grey music. Now, years later, it was time for me to sit back and watch her do her thang. She’s always had a powerful voice and most people describe it as raw and emotive. I kept hearing how ill Nae B was for a while, but never met her until now. They are both solo song writers/artists who have come together for this first project. They usually sell songs to other artists and have done tons of spot work singing and writing hooks for rap songs, but now they’ve decided to make their own music and take it to world.

Strong Women, Strong Voices, Strong Message

There are a few times I spun around at the desk and asked “Do you really want to say that?” Oh yeah, it gets pretty raw. This is an anthem for all the women who have decided to say ‘Enough, no more’. They are sharing the deepest aspects of their lives and I doubt anyone will listen to this and not be moved. When we were near the end, Shea asked me “What do you think?” I answered; “This is going to change things”. She said “No, what do you think of the songs.” I replied “I just told you.”

I take no credit in the creation of this project. They came, they saw, they recorded their vision. All I did was donate my facility and time, to which, they said was a rare act of…

Hold on. What are we all here for? How can you not want to be involved with this kind of music? Do you say you love good music? Are you haunted by shadows from your past? Are you working your way through a world of struggles? Do you have hope and faith that you can make it through? Are you going to look at yourself and say that it’s time for a change? New Years is fast-approaching and that will be time when all of us reflect and decide to make personal changes in how we move about in the world. I suggest you turn it into more than a night of personal promises and vows. I say you commit to Take Over your life and use this album as your inspiration.
